When you were a little kid you probably had an object you kept near you at all times or something you liked to snuggle with as you fell asleep. It might have been a blanket or a stuffed animal or your most favorite toy.
A young woman recently shared some adorable photos of her dog and his cuddle buddy. When you see who, or we should say what, his best friend is, your heart will melt.
Ariana Smoak adopted her now 1-year-old dog when he was a puppy.
wow i never expected this my heart is so warmed by all the sweet replies! some people have been asking so I’ll answer, he’s a year old and i rescued him last year, his story is on my insta @itsthymee, his name is Sunny and a very happy boy! the brick is to keep the carpet down pic.twitter.com/2m3qZxxeUQ

When Ariana found her dog, Sunny, his siblings, and their mother they were in bad condition.
“I rescued him and his siblings last year from the street,” she told BuzzFeed. “They were all covered in fleas and the mom had missing teeth and a skin condition. We cared for them for weeks.”
Since he was little, Sunny took a liking to a brick in the family’s home.

Ariana recalled that when they adopted Sunny he became oddly attached to a brick her family had placed on a carpet to keep the edge from rolling up.
“Since he was a puppy he would lay with it, kiss it, and chew on it,” she said. “We don’t know why and our other two dogs have no interest in it.”
As Sunny grew older he didn’t seem to become any less interested in the brick.
Sometimes he’d just rest his head on top of the brick while other times he’d take a snooze.
It quickly became clear that Ariana’s family had to keep the brick in its spot, regardless if the carpet still needed to be held down.
Ariana described Sunny as “goofy” and his choice of friends sure does show that.
pupdate: I’m still in shock at the response, i can’t believe that his pictures have been shared on numerous insta accounts, Facebook, tumblr and on a buzzfeed article. It’s all very surreal. thank you all for all the love. we aren’t going to let the fame get to his head haha. pic.twitter.com/azcAne1YgJ

Ariana, who wrote on Twitter that she’s “shocked” at the response her original tweet received, said her family won’t let the fame get to Sunny’s head.
Lucky for them that probably won’t be an issue since it seems like he’s content hanging out with his best bud.
