Vieneese Stanton got engaged earlier this year but did not plan on getting married until 2018. But the love from a father can make you change plans.
When getting married, a couple wants to make sure that all of their favorite and important people are in attendance, so when Stanton found out that her dad had a terminal illness, plans for an April wedding were abandoned and she brought the big day forward to November this year.
She wanted to make sure her father was able to see her get married.
Stanton’s father was diagnosed with leukemia. The doctors told Stanton and her family that he may only have weeks to live.
In an act of love, Stanton brought the wedding to the hospital
Stanton wrote a heartfelt post on Facebook explaining how the process of the wedding was worth it.
“The doctors have given him only a few weeks to live so with the help of an AMAZING nurse team we were able to have a surprise wedding for my dad so he could attend.”
She wanted to do it as a surprise for her dad, and he had no idea what was going on until everyone got to the hospital, which was decorated with flowers and purple decorations. The bride credits the amazing staff at the hospital for helping her pull off the wedding.
“This was one of the best moments of my life,” she wrote on Facebook. “This man has raised me since I was 3 years old and now I get the chance to be there for him.”
Her father was more than surprised. The look on his face was the brightest thing in the room.
“Dad I love you more than you know and I am going to be by your side for every step of this process,” she wrote.
