For one couple who desperately wanted children yet were unable to conceive, they found happiness within their reach after adopting a tiny bundle of joy. Their amazing journey captured on camera has opened many eyes to the wonderful possibilities of adoption, when natural birth is not an option.
Faced with the prospect of living out their lives without ever knowing the joy of watching a child grow up, the couple decided to consider the alternative of adoption. They found a mother-to-be who was willing to let them adopt her soon-to-be-born child.
Genesis Media Solutions captured their journey toward parenthood on camera.
When the baby was finally born, Matt and Katie were overjoyed and unable to contain their tears of happiness.
At last … they were holding in their hands a child of their own.
Matt cannot hold back his tears when he realizes that he is now someone’s daddy!
Soon, Katie follows suit!
“We promise to laugh with you, share with you, and be in the moment with you. We promise to provide you with everything you need, not necessarily everything you want, but what you need,” the couple vowed in the video production called “The Beauty of Adoption.”
Weighing about 7 pounds, 9 ounces (approx. 3 kg), the child was named Natalie Gray.
The Beauty of Adoption has attracted more than 890,000 views after being uploaded online in January 2017, and has influenced many people’s attitudes toward adoption. One YouTube user commented: “I have decided to adopt a child when I’m 18. This makes me so firm on my decision.”
Meanwhile, the makers of the documentary are happy by the fact that they got a chance to film the couple and their beautiful moments. “Thanks to them (Matt and Katie) for letting us come alongside them through their journey,” they said in the video description.
There are thousands of couples who simply cannot conceive. By adopting Natalie, Matt and Katie have set a beautiful example.
Childless couples can experience the joy of raising children, while giving the child the love and support that they so desperately need to survive in the world.
