Steven and Millie Tani describe themselves as shy and introverted, but dressing up in cosplay has helped them break out of their shells.

According to Mashable the couple got into cosplay about three years ago when they needed a costume for a Halloween party. While they knew about cosplay from their daughter, who has been engaged with the activity for 10 years, this was the first time the Tanis became involved themselves.

“Since we sort of look like Carl and Ellie [from the movie Up] we decided to try our hand with something simple,” they told Mashable. “We got a marvelous reaction from guests … and thus began our cosplaying career.”

After receiving so many positive reactions from people, the couple decided to continue with cosplay. Their daughter even encouraged them to make a Facebook page dedicated to their costumes, which Millie sews herself.

The couple started with the main characters from “Up.”

And they are gradually making their way through everyone’s favorite Disney movies.

They made sure to cosplay as characters from Marvel’s movies.

The couple told Mashable at first they were unsure how people would receive them, but they were pleasantly surprised and have since made numerous friends in the cosplay community.

These two are amazing and we hope they don’t give up cosplay anytime soon. Luckily they don’t seem to be interested in stopping.

“We don’t want to sit around in rocking chairs, as we want to enjoy our golden years and live life to the fullest,” they said. “It’s almost a 24/7 labor of love coming up with new cosplays, so hopefully we can squeeze in another 10 years.”

Keep living the good life, Steven and Millie!
