This dramatic incident was filmed on Christopher Telford’s headcam mount, which he was testing out when the accident took place.
Telford was driving at 55 mph on a country road towards Lancaster when he spotted a blue BMW heading straight for him, as the driver had mistimed an uphill overtake.
Telford also adds that he was very shocked during the aftermath, but was careful not to show anger. He said “Fair play to everyone for handling things so well. There was no road rage.”
It’s unclear whether the guilty driver will face charges. Telford simply says, “The police are handling things regarding the blue BMW driver,” in his description of the dramatic smash. There were apparently two passengers in the BMW, and Telfrod believes his actions saved lives.
“The combined collision speed would have been 110 mph if we’d collided head on,” he explained. “Bouncing off the drystone wall instead probably saved everyone involved.” Bravo and well done to Telford, we hope you get a new car soon!
