Billy didn’t know he had a sister until he was about 10-years-old. He was growing up with his adoptive family who also adopted his biological brother. According to WPBF News, Billy never had any prior contact with his sister since they were split up as toddlers many years ago. But now, some 20 years later, Billy finally got the chance to meet her.
Billy’s parents couldn’t take care of him and his siblings.
“Our sister Natalie was adopted to a separate family than my brother Jacob and I,” said Billy. “Ever since I knew her name, I’ve wanted to find her.”
Billy now lives in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, with his wife Kerri and three-year-old daughter Summer. Billy told Kerri about his long lost sister, and Kerri decided to help him find her.
Billy has his own family now, but still wanted to meet his sister.
“I wanted to bring the family together. That’s how family should be,” Kerri said.
Kerri turned to social media to try to locate Natalie, and she soon found someone by that name. She messaged her, and it turned out to be the sister of her husband.
Meeting again for the first time!
In early May, Billy and Natalie met in person for the first time in two decades and the moment was incredibly special.
“It was a hug like I’ve never had, because it was a hug I’ve never had,” said Billy. “That was the hug of the year, the hug of my life.”
Family for life!
