It can be an exciting moment for a teenager who passes his or her driving test. It’s at this time when they just can’t wait to hit the road. For a dad in Australia, he decided to play a lighthearted prank on his teen daughter, who really thought she was going to score a brand-new car.

This father, Jacob Strickling, decided to give his daughter a surprise after she obtained her driver’s license. So, he blindfolded her and brought her outside.

He asked his daughter, “Are you excited?”

“No,” she said, with a big grin on her face.

“You should be!” her father responded, seemingly in anticipation of the amusing moment to come.

Once the blindfold was taken off, she saw something covered by a cloth that resembled the shape of a car, so she assumed her dad had bought her a new car. At this stage, it seemed she was thinking she was in for a new car!

However, when the cloth was finally removed and the truth revealed, Strickling’s daughter burst out laughing. The “car” was actually a battery operated mobility scooter, with two giant “P” (provisional license) plates on the front and back.

Though the girl’s father had pranked her, she thought it was hilarious. In the video, her father insists she take it for a spin: “There’s a seat here. Sit on the seat!”

She then happily took off in her new “car” and went for a fun little ride.

The whole moment was recorded on video and uploaded to Strickling’s YouTube channel, Make Science Fun.
