If you have a child under the age of three or have ever watched a baby then you know that even if you take your eyes off them for just a few seconds they can get themselves into trouble.
Fifteen-year-old J’Ann Sorhaindo was well aware that diverting her attention from her two-month-old cousin could spell disaster. So, when J’Ann decided she wanted to make herself a sandwich she got creative.
J’Ann put her cousin, Ava Pemberton, in her shorts.
Claudia Sorhaindo wrote on Facebook that she had to leave the house for a few minutes and called upon her 15-year-old niece to keep an eye on Ava.
Claudia told TODAY that she is part of a large family who lives within walking distance of each other in Lakeland, Florida, and J’Ann is often a go-to babysitter.
Talk about multi-tasking!
A few minutes after Claudia left her house she received a text from J’Ann’s younger sister saying that J’Ann wanted a sandwich, but didn’t want to let Ava out of her sight.
Her solution was hysterical.
“Creativity at its finest,” Claudia wrote on Facebook.
Everyone looks out for Ava.
Claudia revealed that while the photos are extremely funny, there’s a reason why J’Ann took extra care while babysitting Ava. Six years ago Claudia’s three-month-old daughter, Jenelle, died after a mixup at a hospital near their home in St. Croix.
“J’Ann knows how protective I am with Ava,” Claudia told TODAY. “Some might say I’m a little paranoid. I’m always checking to see if she’s breathing, so J’Ann showed me she is making sure she is keeping her eyes on Ava.”
