Children can be full of surprises, and if you’re a parent, you know you can usually count on them to bring a smile to your face just when you need it most.
Nicole Kim, mother of two boys, now 4 and 6, needed a bit of encouragement the day she went in for a sonogram last year, but she didn’t expect it to come from her unborn child.
Needless to say she was shocked at what she saw on the screen at the doctor’s office.
It was her son, still in the womb, giving his mother a big thumbs up.
Kim’s husband had recently been laid-off and she was feeling down, so the cheerful image was just what she needed.
“For me, it just made it seem like everything was going to be OK,” Kim told Today.
“They thought it was really cool,”
When the 26-year-old mother showed the image to her two children they were ecstatic. She said the boys are very excited about having a little brother and can’t wait for him to be born.
“One of my sons likes to come and kiss my belly and hug it.”
Kim shared the thumbs up sonogram in a Facebook group for moms to cheer up the community, and it did.
“Living in Calgary, there’s a lot of people being laid off right now, and it’s hard for our families. We know two other families dealing with it. I think the reason this went viral was because people wanted something to be happy about.”
