Have you ever heard something so beautiful that it makes you want to cry? This little girl has and her mom caught it all on camera.
The video, which has been watched over 40 million times, has stirred a debate.
Is the child crying over the song or is she crying because of some other factor?
It didn’t take too long before the 10-month-old baby girl started getting tears in her eyes while her mother sang Rod Stewart’s “My Heart Can’t Tell You No.”
According to the little girl’s mom, Amanda Leroux, she has no idea why her daughter gets so emotional over this one particular song. Apparently she can sing any other song and won’t get the same reaction.
While many were also perplexed about the girl’s reaction, a specialist on infant cognition told Slate that babies around 10 months old are certainly capable of reading a person’s facial expression and tone of voice. “Babies are also sensitive to music, recognizing musical phrases, for example,” said Alison Gopnik.
Don’t cry little one!
So, it’s very possible this baby girl was picking up on the sadness in her mother’s voice as she sang the emotional song and she wasn’t crying because she couldn’t stand to hear her mom sing.
