Affectionate baby horse asks for hugs

Foals, or baby horses, can stand, walk, and trot just a few hours after birth, and can gallop after about 24 hours.

Most of a foal’s time is spent napping, nursing, and playing, according to The Spruce, and evident in this video of the affectionate foal.

Foals should have lots of time to interact with other foals and mares when possible, but there’s also a lot they need to learn quickly. Silly or uncoordinated behavior in a foal can be dangerous in a 1,000 pound horse.
