A mother’s voice has a profound effect on her child. Babies hear their mother’s voice when they are still in womb. Lullabies have been around for millennia – a mother’s song is magic for making a baby go to sleep.

Cute baby Leo’s reaction to his mother’s singing is a perfect example. The baby tot radiates happiness as he dozes off… only to wake up again with a big angelic smile.

Leo’s mom is singing a version of Brahms’s Lullaby, which goes like this:

Lullaby and goodnight, with roses bedight
With lilies o’er spread is baby’s wee bed
Lay thee down now and rest, may thy slumber be blessed
Lay thee down now and rest, may thy slumber be blessed

Lullaby and goodnight, thy mother’s delight
Bright angels beside my darling abide
They will guard thee at rest, thou shalt wake on my breast
They will guard thee at rest, thou shalt wake on my breast
