Alexey Romanov was born without hands, but that didn’t stop him from becoming a pianist. Inspired by Mozart and Vivaldi, he persisted in pursuing music.
“I always liked classical music. A long time I only thought about it but in the end I decided to try to play. At first I played the simplest things such as ‘Jingle bells’ but now I can learn some more serious works,” he told Ruptly TV.
The 16-year-old from Zelenodolsk, Russia, was adopted at age 12 by Louise and Vladimir Levchakov, who noticed his artistic ability and bought him a synthesizer, according to The Guardian.
His music teacher at a specialist school helped him get started, and he picked up tunes like the theme from “Titanic” and “Twilight,” which are both popular in Russia.

After his amazing performance was posted online, he became an internet star overnight.
Last year, he was invited to perform with the La Primavera chamber orchestra in Kazan, and also to join a music school in the capital. He had only been playing for a year and a half by then, and said he was eager to continue studies in music.
