During a wedding, a speech is often traditionally given by the best man for the newly married couple. The best man usually talks about the wonderful things he and the groom went through while they were single, while congratulating his friend for finding his soulmate, creating a heartfelt moment.
Who better to give a best man speech than this guy?
10-year-old Jaydon Rabatin had the honor of giving this speech in Wilmington, Delaware last week for his father Kevin, and his new stepmother, Briana.
Jaydon started his speech by explaining how he’s going to miss his “bachelor buddy.”
“The day has come that this man is getting married. I’m not too sure how I feel about all of it,” Jaydon said. “Don’t get me wrong. I love Brie. Isn’t she the most beautiful bride? But this means I’m losing my bachelor buddy. We go waaaaay back.”
The newlyweds laughed and cried at Jaydon’s speech.
Jaydon continued his speech, saying that his stepmother would be bringing a lot of love—and cleanliness—to the entire household.
“As we grow older, we also mature together, but here is our confession: We have never been the cleanest of guys together. Without Brie, I don’t think we would ever have clean underwear or socks.”
He admitted, “We would just wear sandals all year round and go commando.”
Jaydon then switched gears and got serious, telling the wedding guests that his dad has always been there for him, and he has watched his dad grow as man.
“As his wing man,” Jaydon said that Briana was, “The chosen one.”
Jaydon stole the show at Kevin and Briana’s wedding.
“We have many new memories and adventures to make together and I truly look forward to it,” Jaydon continued. “There is nothing more important as a son than to see my dad happy and that’s what he is when he is with Brie. Thank you for making my dad happy.”
Briana loved Jaydon’s speech, and his dad said he was very proud.
“It made everybody laugh,” Briana, told PEOPLE. “He basically stole the night and stole the hearts of our guests. It made my heart melt, the parts that he said about me.”
The new bride said Jaydon is an amazing kid, and she feels very welcomed as part of the family.
“[Jaydon’s] funny, he’s outgoing. Even in my vows I said that I would promise to love and protect him as if he were my own son,” Briana explained.
