The U.K. ambassador to Georgia has complained about footage of him being used in a fake TV report showing the country being invaded by Russian tanks and rebels killing the president.

The realistic yet fake report was broadcast Saturday evening on pro-government television, leading many citizens to panic. Footage of British Ambassador Denis Keefe was edited into the report making it look as if he was talking about the invasion. Keefe has now asked the TV station to make it clear he knew nothing about the program and to broadcast a correction.

“I consider Imedi TV’s misuse of this footage to be a discourtesy to me as ambassador of the United Kingdom in Georgia,” Keefe told the BBC.
