After Tree Topples Onto LA Home, Expert Warns More Diseased Trees Could Fall
A massive tree toppled onto a house in Sherman Oaks, California, on Thursday, March 22, rendering the property unsafe to occupy.
This is the second day in a row that a tree has fallen onto a house in the San Fernando Valley, Fox LA reported. But this time a much bigger tree is causing a substantially larger amount of damage.
The couple that lives in the house was not home when the tree struck the house and did severe damage to a corner room.
“It’s horrible. When they come home it’s going to be horrifying,” said neighbor Laura Ginsberg, adding that this was the fifth tree that has fallen since she’s lived in the neighborhood.
“These trees are really sketchy,” Ginsberg said.
They are also disease-ridden.
“I can’t believe they didn’t fall over years ago,” says Gregg Buskett of Sherman Oaks Tree Service.
“Dry rot,” the man says. “These roots are completely rotten.”
