Teen Claimed He Saw Jesus After Miracle Recovery From Death, Doctors Had No Explanation

Near-death experiences (NDEs) aren’t uncommon, and neither are the paranormal experiences that accompany them. In this NDE account, a Texas teen who was almost pronounced dead by doctors miraculously regained his pulse. When he came to, he claimed he saw Jesus.

Zack Clements, then 17, was a healthy high school football player from Brownwood, Texas, who suddenly collapsed on May 5, 2015, while running during P.E. class, at the Warriors Football Feild. His classmates and coach tried to revive him by performing CPR on him, but he was without a heartbeat for 20 minutes.

“The situation was one of the gravest I’d seen,” Gary Bay, the principal of the Christian high school and formerly a volunteer ambulance crewman, told People magazine.

Zack was then rushed to a hospital, where doctors worked to revive him, but things were looking grim. Just as doctors were about to pronounce Zack dead, his pulse returned. The teen was then rushed to the Children’s Medical center in Fort Worth, Texas, where he regained consciousness only after three days.

Doctors were left wondering how Zack managed to survive without oxygen and a heartbeat for so long.

Soon after Zack woke up, he claimed that he had seen Jesus.

“When I was out those 20 minutes, I saw a man who had long ruffled hair and kind of a thick beard, and it didn’t take me long to realize that that was Jesus,” he told CBS Dallas-Fort Worth.

“I went up to him and he put his hand on my shoulder and he told me everything would be alright and not to worry,” he added.

The youngster, who was going to celebrate his 17th birthday the day the incident occurred, told People, “Since it happened, I feel like I’m a stronger person.”

Dr. Lisa Roten, a cardiologist who helped care for Zack, believed his story, and said, “As a society, we don’t like to look at what’s going to happen to us after we die.”

She further added: “It’s an uncomfortable thing. But somebody who is not clinically dead or has not been in that state cannot say what Zack did or did not see. He is somebody who, for 20 minutes, didn’t have a heartbeat.”

Zack’s father, Billy Clements, said that though some might find his son’s story unbelievable, the whole family believes it was this divine miracle behind Zack’s revival.

“For him to wake up and tell us something he experienced like that. It’s just you can’t explain it. It’s not humanly possible to explain it,” he told CBS.

Zack’s mother, Teresa Clements, also expressed her heartfelt appreciation, “I’m just glad he decided to let me have my baby back.”

Since she was surprised by what her son saw, she video-recorded his revelation. “He said that he saw a line of angels and in the middle was the prettiest one of all—Jesus,” Teresa shared.

Whilst Zack’s revival has doctors mystified, they’re similarly baffled as to why Zack stopped breathing in the first place.

After this whole experience, Zack felt very overwhelmed. He said, “I guess you could say that the whole experience has made me a more humble person. I’m happy to be here.”
