[xtypo_dropcap]S[/xtypo_dropcap]weden's highest court ruled on Wednesday not to hear an appeal by Julian Assange against an arrest warrant for him.

According to Swedish High Court there is not enough reason to hear the case, which means the arrest warrant still stands. Swedish authorities want to question the Wikileaks founder in relation to a number of alleged sexual offenses.

The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) issued an international “wanted” alert for WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange on Tuesday.

Assange is believed to be currently in the United Kingdom. Citing police sources, the British newspaper, The Independent reported that the U.K.’s metropolitan police “have a telephone number for Mr. Assange and are fully aware of where he is staying.”

Assange has said the allegations of sexual abuse are part of a smear campaign against him. Assange's lawyer could not be reached for comment on Wednesday.
