The best and the worst of the first-half Super Bowl commercials? Here they are:

THE BEST

Volkswagen: The Force

An amusing and creative commericial in which a dad helps his son lives his Darth Vader fantasy with the single click of his car key.

Brisk: Eminem

Eminem fans will love this spot. Makes me want to shut up and just drink Brisk.

Bridgestone: Reply All

Pretty funny commerical where an office employee tells another that he’s sent an embarrassing message “Reply All.” He goes on a rampage destroying ways people could receive the message: computers, servers, etc. Original and refreshing.

Kia: Epic Ride

Mutiple forces try to steal the car as it travels through time and dimensions, with the Kia meeting Posidon, extraterrestials, and what looks like either the Mayans or Aztecs. Pretty great visuals.

Careerbuilder: Monkeys

Monkeys have been a staple among Super Bowl commercials every year, but this quirky take saw a disgruntled worker being terrorized by monkeys. Quite funny.

Chevy Silverado

Volcano? Belly of a whale? Hot-air balloon? We'll take it.

THE WORST

GoDaddy: Joan Rivers

One word: NO.

[etRating value=“ 1”]

Doritos: Cheese-Lover

A Doritos lover shows his affection for the cheesy chips by not letting go of the very last bit, even when he is not the one eating them. While his obsession with Doritos is obvious, the ad isn’t making us hungry for them.

[etRating value=“ 1.5”]

Bud Light: Home

Did you know the addition of Bud Light to a kitchen is a significant upgrade? Yea, neither do we.

[etRating value=“ 2”]

Doritos: Grandpa

In this Super Bowl ad, Doritos bring back to life a fish and someone’s grandfather. (Grandpa?!) Doritos as the elixir of life? IS that really the message Doritos wants to send for its salty, fatty chips?

[etRating value=“ 2”]

Chevy Cruze: Misunderstanding

“Turn up the Volume!” A few seniors at a nursing home are hard of hearing and misunderstand an aide. A “meh” commercial.

[etRating value=“ 2.5”]

Chevy Cruze: Facebook Date

A guy takes a girl on a date and he was able to get her facebook status through the Chevy Cruze OnStar system. The ad was nothing special, not to mention a little creepy.
