Mount Sinabung on Sumatra, Indonesia, spewed smoke on December 27, in what local disaster agency chief Nata Nail described as the volcano’s “the biggest eruption this year.” More than a thousand people were forced to evacuate due to the smoke and ash, a spokesman for Indonesia’s disaster mitigation agency said.
