Steve Jobs widow: Laurene Powell Jobs has earned recognition for pushing an agenda in areas such as education and nutrition.

“Her life was about her family and Steve, but she is now emerging as a potent force on the world stage, and this is only the beginning," Larry Brilliant, president of the Skoll Global Threats Fund, told the New York Times.

The fortune Jobs has inherited has made her the ninth richest woman in the world, with a net worth of $11.5 billion. Steve Jobs passed away in 2011.

She has donated money to various causes, such as creating a scholarship fund for undocumented students, but looks to make more of an impact by pushing for legislation that would further her goals, such as the Dream Act.

She has recently come out publicly in support of the act, a measure that would let people who arrived in the country as young children become legal citizens.

Jobs told the Wall Street Journal that she wants Congress to pass  “common-sense immigration reform.”
