INDIANAPOLIS—With its unique portrayal of Chinese traditional culture, Divine Performing Arts (DPA) wowed an appreciative audience at the Murat Theatre in Indianapolis on Saturday Jan. 31. State Representative David Neizgodski was one of those who was impressed by the performance.

“I think it’s outstanding, wonderful, we are enjoying ourselves immensely,” he said.

It was really hard for Mr. Neizgodski to decide which part of the show he liked best but he said, “One of the most heartfelt ones would have obviously been the one with the oppression, where the father was taken away and then went onto a life. So in other words, life doesn’t always happen ... have it’s rewards in this life, but it rewards you later—after life.”

Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution is a piece presented by the Divine Performing Arts. Oppression is a painful reality for many millions of persons in China today, as witnessed by an innocent family whose father is persecuted for practicing Falun Dafa, a traditional spiritual discipline. Theirs is the human face of the countless tragic, broken lives in China we seldom hear about. The fantastic scenes that ultimately unfold in this piece present a message of hope and bespeak of a longstanding Chinese belief that good people are ultimately rewarded, even if not in this lifetime.

Mr. Niezgodski continued, saying, “I am very grateful that we are able to watch not just symbolism, but something that gives you this feeling of strength, perseverance, and faith, and that is, I think the ideals everyone wants to hold in their hearts.”

The guiding mission of Divine Performing Arts is to rediscover and renew humanity’s true, rightful cultural heritage. The company thus creates and performs works that center upon the true, divinely bestowed culture of humankind, and seeks to provide an experience of consummate beauty and goodness.
