Space Jam 2: When is Release Date? Will it Include Lebron James?

February 24, 2014 Updated: July 18, 2015

Space Jam 2 rumors have been flying, including regarding the release date and whether Lebron James will star in the movie.

The first film starred Michael Jordan, as well as other top NBA players, and ended up grossing $230 million worldwide.

The sons of broadcasting veteran Dick Ebersol have come on board to develop the sequel, reports Deadline. The movie is being pursued as a starring vehicle for James, Warner Bros. confirmed.

On the other hand, ESPN claimed that sources told it that there’s no Space Jam 2 project in the works, and denied James’ involvement.

James did say in a question and answer session with USA Today in November that he loved Space Jam, and he wishes he could do Space Jam 2.

That prompted a slew of fan-made movie posters, including the one above, and a rumored 2014 release date.

There’s no official word yet on a release date as of yet.

There’s also no word on what other NBA stars would be in the film if it was made.

The original film was a combination of animation and live action, which the sequel would be as well.
