NEW YORK—Rosemarie Barrett, a retired marketing professional, and her granddaughter enjoyed Shen Yun Performing Arts on Friday evening, Jan. 7, at David H. Koch Theater of Lincoln Center.

“Oh, it was absolutely wonderful, so much perfection,” said Ms. Barrett, who took her granddaughter to the show because she is studying Chinese history at school.

“We felt this was a wonderful opportunity to get more insight on Chinese culture, Chinese history, and traditions, and we learned a lot and we loved every moment of it,” Ms. Barrett said.

“It was really fun. It was really cool,” said her granddaughter, Simone.

Simone particularly enjoyed Herding on the Grasslands, a dance which depicts the exhilarating lives of Mongolian horseman, and Little Mischievous Monks, which depicts the lives of young Buddhist monks.

“She loved the perfection of the dancers, the performance, everything was so beautifully synchronized,” Ms. Barrett said.

The show ended with a standing ovation.
