Julie (L) and Steven Smith attended the Shen Yun performance at the Paramount Theatre in Aurora, Ill., on April 5, 2018. "I really enjoyed the athleticism of the performers. I love their colorful costumes. Their synchronization has been phenomenal, so I’ve really enjoyed seeing how they’re able to perform such exact movements in perfect harmony; I love that. I love how they smile all the time while they’re dancing. That’s beautiful," Ms. Smith said. (Stacey Tang/The Epoch Times)
“The beauty, the harmony, the peace, the depth of tradition.”
“Chinese culture is so long, and it’s so tradition-based. This takes you beyond the stereotypical martial arts, and you look at the actual roots of a lot of these dances. You can see a lot of the Hmong dance had very different movements than the other dances. Obviously it’s a very ethnic-type dance, so it has its own rhythms and movements, and I like that. … China’s a large place with a lot of cultures.”
