LODZ, Poland—Classical Chinese dance was performed by the Shen Yun Performing Arts to a full house at the Teatr Wiielki (Grand Theater) in Lodz on Saturday, March 28.

Mr. Jurkiewicz, a tenor, attended the performance, and he appreciated such an opportunity. “How lucky I was to come to the Shen Yun performance this evening! It must have been my destiny to be here, as I have been sick with a sore throat for weeks.”

Mr. Jurkiewicz was particularly taken by the tenor Hong Ming, who sang “Rest in Knowing.” Mr. Jurkiewicz also appreciated the Chinese musical instruments.

“The singers were great, I especially enjoyed the tenor, he is really very good.

“I found the performance of the erhu to my liking. There was another instrument in the orchestra, the suona, most wonderful!”

Mr. Jurkiewicz thought it worthy to have seen 5,000 years of Chinese history from different regions, their folk dancing and the renewal of humanity’s true, rightful cultural heritage.

“The choreography was wonderful, just wonderful ... may they remember Poland. I’ll tell my friends about the show so they can see it next time. I hope they return again.”

‘It was very deep with messages of hope, joy, and peace’

Sister Veronika Maria Klebba from Missionary Congregation of the Holy Spirit, a nun for 20 years, was invited to the Shen Yun performance by Chinese friends. She said what she had heard about the show elsewhere, which also attracted her to accept the invitation.

Sister Veronika said, “I liked it very much, it was very deep with messages of hope, joy and peace, which is given to people from God.

“The music was joyous and the whole show was very beautiful. I was deeply touched by the two pieces [Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution and Dignity and Compassion], which showed the truth about the people who practise Falun Dafa and are suffering today because of their convictions.”

The dance, Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution, depicts an innocent family whose father is persecuted in China for practising Falun Dafa, a traditional spiritual discipline. The fantastic scenes that ultimately unfold in this program present a message of hope and portray a longstanding Chinese belief that good people are ultimately rewarded, even if not in this lifetime.

Sister Veronika liked the message of hope and said that the persecution is wrong.

This is the second of three Shen Yun performances in Lodz before continuing on to Kiev, Ukraine, on April 1 on the next leg of the 2009 World Tour.
