NEW YORK—Mila Wentrys, who grew up in Poland under communism shared that seeing Shen Yun Performing Arts, a performance that shows what China was like before communism, gave her great hope.
“I was crying, like it’s just tears were pouring down my face, because there is so much beauty about this divine tradition,” she said.
Mr. Tomasz Wentrys, president of a construction company, and Mrs. Mila Wentrys, who works in a media company, saw Shen Yun at Lincoln Center on the afternoon of April 15. They said the performance exceeded their expectations and tapped into current issues.
“It’s unbelievable, it’s like really a fight between good and evil, and that’s what’s happening in the world right now. And we just cannot allow for the evil to take over the goodness, the divine. Like when they say people were here for divine purpose, there’s a purpose for us to be here, so, it’s wonderful. It’s just amazing.”
Mr. Wentrys said Shen Yun was doing something important.
“It was just very touching and emotional and just, you know, all the aspects of the show were diving deep into the soul of humanity and who we really are. And it’s an eye-opening experience,” he said.
“We’re getting caught up in technology advances and all sorts of things, and we’re forgetting about what’s really important. So, that’s how I think it brings so much to the world. I mean, it’s really very powerful.”
“The whole experience was just fantastic,” he said. “It’s truly amazing to see the performances and so many great people coming together and just having this kind of broad idea about what’s happening with the world. Hopefully, for the better!”
