HONG KONG—MBO South China Sharks take the 2015-16 Quam Cup over Quam Hong Kong Tycoons 9-6 in a thoroughly entertaining, action packed final of the CIHL playoffs at Mega Ice on Thursday April 21.

Sharks were one step ahead right from the first minute when they netted twice with strikes by Blake Steele and Jamie Stark. Sharks added another through Ryan Wong before Lucas Eshleman got on the scoresheet for Tycoons, but Sharks added another with Stark’s second to make it 4-1 at the end of Period 1.

At the beginning of Period 2, Tycoons started a comeback with a Patrick Neundorfer strike but Jordan So reopened the gap to 3 goals just a minute later.  Eshleman from a long strike pulled it back to 5-3 but there was no way to deny Sharks, it was there evening, as they slotted home another two goals as So and Steele each netted again to make it 7-3 at the interval.

The final stanza was again fast and furious with a 5-goal haul. But, although Tycoons picked up 3 with scores by Scott Nicholl, Canute Dalmasse and Neundorfer, it was Sharks night as So and Steele sealed the match at 9-6.

Mr Bernard Pouliot, Chairman, of lead sponsors Quam Financial Services, awarded medals to the winners and runners up and presented the Quam Cup to Sharks.
