A year ago, an incident on a United Airlines flight drew international headlines, raising questions over how passengers are sometimes treated.

Dr. David Dao, who refused to give up his seat, was dragged from a plane, leaving his face bloodied, as the scene was recorded by other passengers.

James Long, a former security officer for the Chicago Department of Aviation, was fired after forcibly removing Dao from the aircraft in April 2017.

Long on Tuesday, April 10, filed a lawsuit against the Chicago Department of Aviation as well as its commissioner, Ginger Evans, and United Airlines for a range of claims related to his termination, the Chicago Tribune reported.
