Secretariat, the newly-released film about the namesake horse that won the Triple Crown 30 years ago, got the thumbs-up from the jockey who rode the legendary steed.

Ron Tucotte said the film’s story was mostly accurate, although there was some dramatization. However he “thought it was a very good movie,” according to the Associated Press.

Diane Lane stars in the movie as the racehorse’s owner while John Malkovich plays the part of Secretariat’s trainer.

The movie came out over the weekend and grossed $12.6 million, getting the third spot on the box office.

Penny Chenery, the former owner of the horse, said she also enjoyed watching the film. “I’ve seen it twice already, and I liked it very much,” she told the Boulder Daily two weeks ago.

Turcotte, 69, reminisced about the famed 1973 races in the Triple Crown.

“People have been learning about Secretariat since he ran,” he told AP. “It’s just what Secretariat did. He was such a great horse—I really believe the greatest horse that ever lived. I’m not the only one who believes that.”
