Schodack, New York Officers Investigate Thruway After Reports of Man With Rifle

New York police shut down a road to investigate reports of a man in the area armed with a rifle.

The New York Thruway Authority closed I-90 Westbound beyond exit B1 for police activity, the authority alerted people on Twitter at 7:13 a.m. Route 9, just south of exit 12, was also closed, reported CBS6 Albany.

About an hour later, the all-clear was given and the roads were re-opened.

The shutdown came after numerous calls reporting a man in a car with a rifle were received by New York State Police at Troop G headquarters.

No further details are clear at this time.
