Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Announces Nominees

Fifteen musical artists have been named nominees by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, five of which will ultimately be honored as members into the esteemed hall.

The diverse list of the chosen is as follows: Beastie Boys, The Cure, Donovan, Eric B. & Rakim, Guns N’ Roses, Heart, The Small Faces/The Faces, Rufus with Chaka Khan, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Laura Nyro, Freddie King, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, The Spinners, Donna Summer, and War. The winners will be revealed at the Annual Induction Ceremony in Cleveland on April 14.

Andy Rooney Retires

Andy Rooney will retire from his 60 Minutes post this weekend. His humorous, often satirical, and sometimes controversial segment, now titled “A Few Minutes with Andy Rooney,” has been a fan favorite since it began in 1978. At age 92, the news magazine stalwart will announce his departure during his regular segment, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Aniston, Streisand, and Others to Be Honored by ‘Elle’

Fashion magazine Elle will host its annual Elle Women in Hollywood Celebration next month. Those to receive awards include Jennifer Aniston, Barbra Streisand, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Naomi Watts, among others, according to USA Today. The Four Seasons Beverly Hills Hotel will host the event honoring women in film on Oct. 17.
