Robert Downey Jr. is tapped to star as a Broadway songwriter in an untitled Warner Bros. musical comedy, according to Deadline.com.

Downey’s character will be one of two songwriters who hit hard times after their musical flops, forcing them to work as counselors who teach kids to sing and dance at a theater camp, while they plan their return to Broadway.

Brian Yorkey is set to write the script and lyrics, while Tom Kitt will compose the music.

Downey, 45, attended theater camp in his youth, according to CNN.

The actor is well known for his winning voice and famously sang “Chances Are” with Vonda Shepard and “Every Breath You Take” with Sting on Ally McBeal in 1997. He also released his own album called The Futurist in 2005.

The Oscar-winner’s current projects include Sherlock Holmes 2 and The Avengers movie.
