“RIP Flappy Bird” messages are circulating on social media websites as people mourn the loss of the popular and addicting game from the app store.

Dong Nguyen, the creator of the game, made good on his vow to take down the game.

Although he was making about $50,000 a day from in-game ads, the game had become too stressful for him, Nguyen relayed via Twitter.

He will likely still make money from the game as any devices that had the game downloaded before the app was taken off of the store still get to keep it.

In addition, the takedown has already sparked someone to put an iPhone on eBay that has the Flappy Bird game installed. Bids start at $650.
