Regis Philbin Signing Off ‘Live’ in November

Veteran talk show host Regis Philbin will co-host his last Live with Regis and Kelly on Nov. 18.

Philbin made the announcement on Live Tuesday morning, saying, “Last January I made the announcement that I’ll be moving on. But I never gave you an exact date. So I’m pushing it back five years. Just kidding.”

His television career began in the late 1960s, and his tenure on a live morning talk show (featuring several co-hosts) has spanned almost three decades.

Phish Helps Home-State Flood Victims

Members of the jam band Phish are lending a hand to their home state of Vermont, which suffered devastating flooding after Tropical Storm Irene hit the area.

The band will play the Champlain Valley Exposition in Essex Junction, Vt., on Sept. 14, according to MTV News. Proceeds from the show will benefit Phish’s WaterWheel Foundation and the Vermont Community Foundation.

A Hand for Joan Rivers

Comedian Joan Rivers was celebrated in New York on Saturday at Theatre 80 with a handprint ceremony. She was joined by her daughter Melissa, among other family members, according to Playbill.

The ceremony was filmed for the pair’s reality show Joan and Melissa: Joan Knows Best? which airs on the cable network We.
