If you come in to my River North, Chicago acupuncture practice for a consultation, I promise you I often have many suggestions. I believe that self-care is an important part of healing and staying healthy.
One recommendation that I mention quite often and for a variety of patients is the yoga pose called ‘Legs up the wall’. This is a simple, easily done, restorative pose with many benefits.

Top 3 Reasons to Put Your Legs Up The Wall

1. This pose benefits the heart by giving it a rest as it doesn’t have to pump so hard and it slows down your heart rate.
2. Having your legs up the wall reduces swelling in the feet and legs.
3. Plus this well known yoga pose is very relaxing!
Give it a try! Even a few minutes with your legs up the wall will help calm your mind and body.
If you want to get a little fancier try putting a yoga block under your pelvis.

Enjoy!
