Prince William turns 35 tomorrow. It was not an easy year for the prince and the U.K.

While his mental health initiatives brought him praise, he stood by England in moments of tragedy. Three recent terrorist attacks created a somber mood. The 24-story Grenfell Tower fire led to more tears. The Brexit vote created uncertainty across the U.K.

But Prince William and the royal family continued to support the public and reach out to all involved parties.
