About 1,700 Richmond electric customers were without power on the evening of Sept. 27, a PG&E spokesman said.
The outage started at 7:18 p.m. and affected as many as 2,880 customers in Richmond, Crockett, and Pinole, spokesman J.D. Guidi said.
As of 9:13 p.m., crews had cut the outage to 1,780 customers and all but 80 were in Richmond. The 80 others were in Crockett and Pinole, Guidi said.
There was no estimate for when power would be restored to all customers. The cause is under investigation.
