Police Can’t Help Woman Terrorized By Con Man Tenant
A woman in North Carolina is being terrorized by a tenant who won’t leave. She says he is a conman and that police aren’t doing much to help her.
A woman who asked to be identified only as “Shameka” rented a room to a man at the request of a friend. The man told Shameka his name is “Aaron Greene.” He was supposed to have moved out by Aug.1. When Shameka returned from a trip on Aug. 5, Greene was still living there, Fox 46 reported.
Shameka said she entered the room to see if Greene was packed. She discovered fake identification and materials containing names, social security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, and family information that Shameka believes are part of a fraud scheme.
“Passports, he got the machines to make the ID’s, he has the scanners, he has the laminating machines, he has the hot presser, he has everything,” said Shameka.
She said the police aren’t helping her because they don’t know the man’s real name. The judge also denied her request for a warrant for the same reason.
Shameka also said she provided a description of the suspect’s two cars to police, but says police can’t help her because he took off the license plates.
Shameka changed the locks, but fears she is in danger.
“He’s threatening to kick my door in. He told me I had 24 hours to let him in the house, if I didn’t let him in the house he was gonna shoot my house up,” said Shameka. “He also told me that he’s not going to be the only person taking a loss I’ll be taking a loss as well; I won’t be able to live in my house anymore.”
Shameka’s brother Julius Williams encountered the man in person and also spoke to him on the phone. Williams thinks the man is crazy and manipulative. He also thinks Shameka is in danger and that the man would carry out his threats.
“I’ve been here basically protecting her making sure that everything is okay that the kids are safe and she’s safe,” said Williams.
