A person was killed by a SEPTA train in Somerton, Philadelphia on Thursday morning, according to local reports.

The collision took place at around 11:25 a.m. at the 100 block of Byberry Road, reported ABC.

Officials said it is unclear why the person was on the tracks.

The train involved in the collision was the West Trenton Regional Rail Line. It was on its way to the Forrest Hill station.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that SEPTA service was suspended on the line.
