Indiana Pacers forward Danny Grangers will miss three months after a Tuesday morning procedure on his left knee, according to a report on the NBA’s website.
The procedure, performed by Dr. James Andrews, involved an injection to treat left patellar tendinosis.
The extended loss of Granger, who has yet to play this season, is a major blow to the 2-2 Pacers.
Last season the 6-foot, 8-inch 225-pound forward led the team in scoring for the fifth straight season putting up 18.7 points per game for the 42-24 Pacers, who lost in the EasterN Conference semifinals to Miami.
With Granger out the Pacers will to Gerald Green and Sam Young to fill his void at the small forward position.
