Authorities said a man was beaten and stripped naked after getting off the bus in New York City, according to a post from the New York City Police Department (NYPD) on Jan. 24.

The NYPD said that the incident occurred at around 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 22 at Canal St. and Allen. St. in Manhattan’s Chinatown district.

A group is seen attacking a 26-year-old male victim before taking his cell phone, pants, underwear, and shoes, according to the NYPD News Twitter page.
“This mob attack happened in Lower Manhattan on Friday,” said the Police Benevolent Association, of the largest NYPD unions, on Twitter. “A 26 y/o was attacked by a gang of people, had his cellphone stolen and was then STRIPPED NAKED with nothing left on the street. This wasn’t a rare attack, this is the reality of our streets. If you have info come forward.”
Authorities told the New York Post that the victim, who is from Brooklyn, was slashed several times in the head, hand, and torso. They said that he had recently got off a bus from Atlanta to New York City.

The group fled in three vehicles, including two sedans and a van, officials told the NY Post.

Anyone with information should call 800-577-TIPS.
