New York City Police Commissioner Bill Bratton is now on Twitter.
By noon on Thursday, Bratton already had over 900 followers and posted 3 tweets.
Not long after New York City’s Police Department’s official twitter account, @NYPDnews, live-tweeted his comments from the Compstat meeting, he posted a photo of himself at the event. The event was not open to the media.
Bratton was previously police commissioner from 1994 to 1996. During his previous tenure he started the Compstat program, which has been credited for crime reduction.
He also tweeted on Thursday morning: “Follow me here… Great to be on Twitter. Should be the start of a beautiful relationship.”
