Northeastern Chinese City Reported New Cluster of CCP Virus Infections

Chinese authorities announced a new cluster of the CCP virus infection in Shulan City, Jilin Province, and identified Ms. Li, a woman working as a laundry lady, as “patient zero” of this new outbreak.

Li, who was diagnosed on May 7, works in the Shulan Police Bureau and her husband is an officer in the bureau.

On May 10, 11 new cases were reported in one day, who came in close contact to Ms. Li. Local authorities announced the next day that Shulan is under wartime state and a city-wide lockdown.

As two of the 11 patients, Li’s older sister and her sister’s daughter, work at the Qinghua Public Bathhouse. The city’s epidemic control team issued an urgent notice, requiring all who have been to the bathhouse in the past month to self-quarantine at home for 21 days.
