“Fat” Mike Burkett, the lead singer of pop-punk band NOFX, allegedly punched and kicked a fan who went on stage, according to accounts of the event.

The fan gets up on the stage and hugs Burkett before he hits the man and kicks him in the face while he was down. Security then escorts the man off the stage.
DyingScene.com reported that Burkett “had been complaining of neck pain during the show and when an unwitting fan snuck on stage to give him a mid song hug Mike just went ballistic. An elbow to the face took the fan down and Mike followed that up with a swift kick to the face. It seriously goes down like a sequence from an action movie…”
The fan also made an apology after the incident, saying he wasn’t seriously hurt.
Users on Twitter commented on the incident.
“Mike, what are you doing? This is not how the funny, intelligent and kind punk and Idol of thousands should react. 🙁 ,” one person wrote on Twitter.
Added another: “LMAO fat mike from NOFX KICKED SOMEONE IN THE FACE at a show like last night or something.”
“I don’t blame @FatMike_of_NOFX for kicking and punching that STRANGER who jumped on stage and tried to hug him,” tweeted another.
“Does anyone else NOT find it funny that Fat Mike kicked a fan in the face?” said another.
