The NBA trade rumors in 2014 continue flying, and involve the Knicks, Rockets, and Celtics.
Let’s take a look at some of them:
-Rumors are flying about Carmelo Anthony going to the Chicago Bulls.
Most executives Chris Broussard of ESPN spoke to said that the Bulls will go after Anthony in free agency. A trade is “certainly possible,” if the Bulls amnesty Carlos Boozer. However, Anthony can make a lot more ($33 million) with the Knicks than any other team in free agency.
On the other hand, Yahoo! suggests that Kevin Love to the Bulls is a better move than Anthony to the Bulls.
That deal could be Boozer and two first-round picks. The Bulls could also throw in Nikola Mirotic.
-Emeka Okafor could be traded to the Boston Celtics.
Okafor could be traded for Jeff Green and Avery Bradley, speculates Hoop Rumors. The Celtics could also include Brandon Bass and/or Keith Bogans in the deal.
-The Celtics could trade Rajon Rondo to the Rockets
There’s lots of rumors about Rondo but Basketball Insiders reports that a large number include the Rockets, mostly because of the Rockets lack of a point guard.
However, the Rockets don’t have many trade assets, basically Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik are the only ones that they would consider moving.
-The Cavs could trade Kyrie Irving.
Irving doesn’t want to stay in Cleveland, reported ESPN. “Chemistry is a major issue there and some of that is on Mike Brown. But more of it is on the collection of players in Cleveland at the moment. Something has to happen quick. Kyrie Irving has been telling people privately he wants out. Cleveland can’t afford to lose him and LeBron. They know the urgency. I expect them to be major players at the deadline.”
Correction: A previous version of this story wrongly identified which team Brandon Bass plays for.
