The Raphael Nadal tennis fan who stormed the court at Arthur Ashe Stadium and kissed Nadal during the changeover will be charged with trespassing and may serve jail time if convicted.

“For me it wasn’t a problem. The guy was really nice. He was a great fan, he said I love you,” Nadal told reporters.

However, the USTA did not take the man’s actions lightly.

In addition to potential jail time, Noam U. Aorta might have to pay a fine of up to $5000 for his on-court celebration with the tennis star.

“I think it is important to understand that the safety of our players, and our fans, and everyone on site here at the National Tennis Center, is first and foremost in our minds. And what took place last night was simply unacceptable,” said U.S. Open Tournament Director, Jim Curley, during an on air interview with ESPN.

“I can assure everyone that we are going to do everything in our power to make sure it doesn’t happen going forward.”

Raphael Nadal is no stranger to fan frenzy. After a U.S. Open match in 2007, a crowd of fans rushed the court as Nadal was heading toward the entranceway. One of the security guards on site began to push the crowd back and a female fan fell to the court as a result.
