MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough Takes Donald Trump’s Side in Debate Controversy–Here’s What He Said

Donald Trump has an unlikely supporter in the latest controversy involving the Republican presidential frontrunner.

Trump lashed out at Fox News and Megyn Kelly after the network refused to remove Kelly as a debate moderator. He said he won’t attend the January 28 debate, and will hold his own event for veterans instead.

In response, Fox News issued a tongue-in-cheek statement accusing Trump of backing down when the situation got challenging.

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough later weighed in, supporting Trump and criticizing Fox News.

“First of all, a news organization that is going to run a debate provoking a candidate like that is just asking for it,” he said.

Scarborough told co-host Mika Brzezinski he’d rather be set on fire than participate in a Fox News debate.

“Donald Trump, I will tell you, I would literally go to the center of Sixth Avenue and set myself on fire—set myself on fire before I stood on a debate stage with any news organization that did that statement,” he said.

“I would tell them to go to hell a lot faster than Donald Trump did.”

Then he addressed Kelly—check it out above.
