The Democrats, for the most shameless electoral reasons, blame the pandemic on Donald Trump.

Nancy Pelosi, who now likens federal agents to Nazi “stormtroopers” (I have some dead ancestors in Poland who might take issue with that), calls it the “Trump virus,” as if Communist China had nothing to do with it.

Winning is everything to these people, even if it means destroying the United States of America to do it (cf. Portland, Seattle, Chicago, and so forth). Nothing so despicable has taken place in my life with the exception of the Trump-Russia probe only months ago—and that was initiated by virtually the same group.

So where is Dr. Anthony Fauci in all this?

His bizarre wild pitch at the baseball opening is symbolic in a way, as it displayed a certain arrogance. Why, with that level of sports accomplishment, was he there in the first place?

Bluntly, what has occurred here surrounding the pandemic, including the “pandemic panic” under which we live, has to a great degree been exacerbated by Dr. Fauci and his colleagues and their arrogance, cheered on, inevitably, by the Democrats and their media choir.

Call it Deep State Medicine.

The lion’s share of the blame clearly belongs to Beijing—and there is nowhere better to read the details than here at The Epoch Times—but it’s also the Deep Staters, the lifers in the National Institute of Health and the Center for Disease Control, who have some explaining to do.

Why has the United States done so poorly in the crucial mortality rate compared to Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam, and even Japan? Taiwan, a country of over 20 million and just miles from China, has deaths in single digits, making COVID-19 significantly less dangerous than the common flu.

Why weren’t we, the font of modern medicine, more successful?

A large group of frontline doctors just assembled in protest in D.C.—a “White Coat Summit”— has an answer. They say they have been handicapped by the diktats of government bureaucrats (NIH and CDC) who claim to know how to treat COVID patients, when the doctors themselves are the ones who actually have to save the lives of those patients on the ground.

The viral video of a Nigerian woman doctor vehemently complaining about Fauci, et al., has been squelched (how racist and sexist) by our “scientifically advanced” overlords at Twitter and Facebook, who, as we know, are so devoted to free expression.

Don’t tell them, however, or they will seek to similarly censor the recent Newsweek (of all places) article by Dr. Harvey A. Risch, who, inconveniently, is a professor of epidemiology at Yale’s School of Public Health. He writes:

“I am usually accustomed to advocating for positions within the mainstream of medicine, so have been flummoxed to find that, in the midst of a crisis, I am fighting for a treatment that the data fully support but which, for reasons having nothing to do with a correct understanding of the science, has been pushed to the sidelines. As a result, tens of thousands of patients with COVID-19 are dying unnecessarily. Fortunately, the situation can be reversed easily and quickly.

“I am referring, of course, to the medication hydroxychloroquine. When this inexpensive oral medication is given very early in the course of illness, before the virus has had time to multiply beyond control, it has shown to be highly effective, especially when given in combination with the antibiotics azithromycin or doxycycline and the nutritional supplement zinc.”

Risch has a tremendous amount of supporting details. But is he correct? I’m no expert (and neither, for the most part, are the “experts”). Hydroxychloroquine, however, was de facto always bad because Trump liked it.

Nevertheless, you should read “The Key to Defeating Covid-19 Already Exists. We Need to Start Using It” before it mysteriously disappears.

Finally, a note of what I mean by Deep State medicine, if it’s not readily apparent.

What we call the Deep State is in essence a dramatic term for bureaucracy. Bureaucracies are primarily concerned with their own survival, of which innovation and experimentation are often the enemy. The old way, whether valid or not, is almost always emphasized. The default position is defensive (don’t fire me from my important job of decades).

Sound familiar?

If it doesn’t, and even if it does, I would suggest reading Julien Benda’s La Trahison des Clercs (1927), translated as “The Treason of the Intellectuals.” You may recognize the author of the introduction as a frequent contributor here.
