Massive Sinkhole Reveals Underground Cave in Texas
A rumbling sound reported by residents in the early hours of Thursday at a suburban neighborhood in Williamson County, Texas turned out to be a giant sinkhole.
But more than just the 43-foot sinkhole had been revealed, authorities told Fox 7 Austin reporters. An underground cave, about 160 feet back from the opening, had also opened up.
While some residents reported water outages and other inconveniences, local children jumped at the chance to practice entrepreneurial skills–and sold candy to the troves of onlookers streaming into the neighborhood to examine the cave.
